A series of articles was written in The Franklin Democrat, a Johnson Co. Indiana newspaper, entitled Shadows of the Past, dtd 10 Feb, 3 Mar, 14 Apr and 12 May 1905, on the heritage of the Hamilton family in Johnson Co. Indiana. It is here we get the names of our earliest ancestors, who by the way, we can't find. They are: Alexander and Arithelia Hambleton of the James River Valley in Virginia of English ancestry. It is also very possible they are the parents of Theophilus.
